A hummingbird nest built on top of a bare branch which runs diagonally from upper left to lower right. The nest is comprised of white, cottony-looking material and lichen. The female rub-throated hummingbird is sitting in it, looking to the left, with her tail sticking up on the right.

If you don't like hummingbirds, tune me out for the next week or so! I was lucky to be tipped off on the location of a ruby-throated hummingbird nest. I will be posting a series of shots taken over about two and half weeks, starting with this one of momma sitting in her nest on June 16th #birds
