I dunno man, I think precipitously canceling people's funding caused a lot of damage to other people's careers and lives and reputations and maybe they should live with the blowback. They come from a media ecosystem that makes public lists of insufficiently bigoted professors.
"where are the student protestors now" as if they were not expelled, arrested, threatened, derided, abandoned, and deported. as if we didn't systematically punish what could have been our own next generation of active political leaders. jfc.
Respectfully, eat shit. Those kids were expelled, arrested, and targeted relentlessly by their school administrations with the specific goal of preventing further protest. Eighteen year old kids were held down and maced by campus security, hit point blank with tear gas canisters by riot cops.

I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
This same argument can be extended to excluding black characters, to excluding women characters from certain roles, to any form of bigotry you can imagine.

When I ride the new Link extensions, the care that Sound Transit put into elevating trains and protecting pedestrians really underlines the fact that South Seattle got screwed by Sound Transit. Feels like they don’t care if we live or die.

I understand why chatbot cheating happens but every time I read about it I want to gently remind everyone that the point of schoolwork is not for the submission to exist. Teachers are not just greedy for more essays or solved equations. The point is to do the work WITH YOUR OWN BRAIN, FOR LEARNING.
