Those interested should contact sdressel@chapman.edu. Final submissions will need a paper title, abstract, and a CV.
Presenters will focus on introducing their texts in the context of practical pedagogy: making materials accessible to students, finding the means for non-experts to present these texts thoughtfully, and using creative active learning strategies to engage students in the classroom.
These texts may be included in standard anthologies or may be drawn from the large corpus of materials beyond those collections.
This can be compounded by the breadth of courses that many of us, particularly early career and instructional faculty, have to grapple with. This panel seeks to present innovative solutions to these problems, introducing the audience to texts outside of the traditional canon.
Expanding the Canon: Practical Pedagogy
A challenge that many academics face is how to bring diverse voices into courses that have been traditionally dominated by dead white men.
