Sal Buscema, Comic Book Legend, Dead At 89 | Comic Book Club Sal Buscema, a comic artist best known for legendary runs on Marvel's Incredible Hulk and Spectacular Spider-Man, passed away last Friday, just short of his 90th birthday.

Some of you will remember my posts raving about Sal Buscema.

He's gone now.

He did some unforgettable work with @jmdematteis.bsky.social and his run on The Incredible Hulk was an indelible part of my childhood.

He had a good run. To be appreciated in your own time is the best thing for artists.

His crackdown is over? Nobody told ICE in Maine. I am *begging* people not to forget about us.

I would argue his run on Spectacular Spider-Man with Peter David and J.M. DeMatteis are probably the best - or at least my favorite - Spidey stories of all time.

Also extremely petty.

If it isn’t something Robin Hood or Marian are willing to eat, they’ll take it to go and give it to a homeless person or something along those lines.

Gisbourne would kill the people who messed up his order.

The sheriff would arrest the entire restaurant staff and auction it (and the land) off.

Sal Buscema’s one of my all-time favorite comic book artists, and one of the first whose style I could instantly put a name to when I got into comics over 30 years ago.

If your first instinct to someone being politically mobilized by all this is to give them a sneering "well, what took you so long?" you don't actually care about our winning this; you just want to be able to say you were right.

Target in Minneapolis has pulled Hispanic employees off of pick-up order duty after ICE arrested two US citizen Hispanic employees while on the job.

“I’m literally a U.S. citizen!” one shouted as they escorted him into a van.

Worth it.

I know it's hard to track all the threats to democracy out there right now, but this is at the top of the list.

It’s not just that they are murdering people who are peacefully protesting, it’s that they then stand in front of the cameras and slander the victims by telling us that what we see on the videos didn’t happen.

We now live in a society in which we have to worry about law enforcement officials randomly breaking our doors down without having permission from a court of law to do so.

"ICE will leave Minnesota if you hand over your voter rolls" tells you everything you need to know.

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.
