This reporting/the possibility of a missed opportunity might spark some renewed discontent over the pick cost of the Bridges trade, which I get. But after "wait for a savior" didn't work for decades, I have a hard time being *too* mad at the Knicks for a deal to keep building a Finals-caliber team.

There actually having been conversations feels pretty notable! Tough to say just how much, though, given you'd assume MIL would want a pick-heavy package and NYK, post-Mikal deal, only has one fully tradable future first right now (the 2026 Wiz pick, I believe?) plus a few swaps.
