Some reasons why new claims may be down:
The most vulnerable jobs were already cut.
Many CONTINUE to be unemployed.
People didn't try to file bc they knew the gov was shutdown.
Some jobs retention in anticipation of holidays.

I believe every miracle has an explanation. For the "loaves and fishes" I believe the true miracle was getting people to share what they had with others who didn't have anything. Jesus used the generosity of a child to shame people into sharing with those around them.

That is definitely true, and visibility & representation are important. But the freedom & responsibility to parent our children according to our values needs to be protected, whether we agree with another parent's values or not. If we want freedoms, we have to let others have theirs, too.
