Landed home safely. Had a great weekend at MOTL! Bombed out of my (absolutely stupidly stacked) pool in DDR, but had a great weekend. Shoutouts to all the OhioDDR folks for continuing to put on phenomenal events.

Folks going to MOTL - anyone have spare space at a room at Best Western? For various reasons I wasn't able to confirm travel until recently, and all hotel rooms there had sold out.

I've never paid attention to most of Round1's food prices (and they do have some pretty good food and drink deals), but $31 for a bowling alley tier pizza is absolutely criminal.

Credits have 7-8 people listed for QA and I'm convinced those 7-8 folks just so amazing at the game after 7 years they didn't realize issues for everyone else starting out.

Anyways after 100% it there's like 5 specific sections I have major gripes with and Bilewater is one of them.

I can finally go outside now. Despite a few very frustrating parts I hope they eventually patch, IMO this is up there with one of the best Metroidvanias ever made.

Again, how the hell was this $20?

Just played through to another major milestone (no spoilers) and uhhhhhhh yeah this game is enormous. No one would have batted an eye if this was $40 and it would still feel like money well spent.

Rolled credits on Silksong today. There is still A LOT of content I've yet to go through. Game is absolutely massive.

Overall game is great and criminally underpriced at $20, but it definitely needs a patch or two to balance out some of the more frustrating parts.

I beat the hardest Silksong boss - getting through 30 minutes of store crashes before actually getting to buy the game.

They re-worked Arena to a new format with a ton of issues (both gameplay and economy), just released a miniset with 0 impact, and there are bugs that are so bad they had to disable Ranked entirely with the recent patch. There's also 0 dev communication compared to frequent comms 2+ years ago.

2025 summary, they just released an Ungoro sequel as an expansion except it had 0 impact on the format, dev team admitted they designed the cards to be bad, and added $160 cosmetics to the game w/Gacha BS.

As someone who's played Hearthstone since December 2014 (Goblins vs Gnomes release) and how consistently GOOD the game was for almost 10 years, it's so sad seeing how fast the game deteriorated in a little over a year. Enshitification fully ran its course over the game and it's beyond saving now.

While getting my car serviced this morning, I successfully helped a woman who didn't speak fluent English by explaining in my gringo Spanish how to operate their coffee maker (one of those big touchscreen ones with everything in English). I think that's a win?

Rogue Prince of Persia is made by the Dead Cells dev team and is literally Dead Cells x Prince of Persia. The game also has cross progression across every platform. And it's currently free on Gamepass and PS+.

I...might forsee myself spending some time with this one.

I mean I'm assuming it's about Silksong, but given today *gestures widely* I can see why this might be playing into it lol.

Finally got around to playing Animal Well and got the credits to roll today. I think the hype is justified - game flat out plays well and the amount of secret discovering (especially after you "beat" the game) is vast. I'm still blown away they made the entire game fit around 40MB.

In this recent situation, it was even worse. They were in whatever default folder that only has beginner selectable, so I had to show them how to get out of that folder into All Music (which I struggled with myself) and then had to show them how to change the difficulty. It's so bad

The game can simultaneously have good QoL features and the worst designed UI known to mankind and both things be true at the same time.

Earlier while playing DDR, someone on an adjacent cab came up to ask me how to change the difficulty on DDR World. I told them they're not crazy and showed them how to do it.

I've had this interaction no less than 20 times in the past year.

DDR World's UI might be the single worst thing ever made

De-rusting on DDR after not playing for a month+ is the biggest whirlwind experience ever.

Set 1 - Struggling to read the arrows, my legs are wobbly, my timing is all over the place, I'm running out of breath playing 14s.

Set 5 - I have 5p 75% of the way through on Aria ESP.

I hate how long interview stuff takes, but thankfully have my next round of interviews scheduled for this week (and up to 2 more after....ugh).

In the meantime, taking advantage of Funemployment and finished 100% DK Bananza last night. Phenomenal game, up there with Clair Obscur for GOTY.
