To Catch a Predator only the host is entrapping the dumbest reactionaries imaginable by pretending to be a college “liberal” who thinks Woke has gone too far.
Doesn't it suck primarily because of the way the program is designed (e.g. contribution limits, very narrow qualified purchases, eligibility restrictions, no roll-overs)? And because we have a thousand different versions of this (HSAs, FSA, 529s, etc.) instead of one single account?
If you want to cut taxes, why not let people pay for essentials pre-tax. Create new accounts (maybe tie this to postal banking?) that receive a pretax portion of your income and then use those accounts to pay rent/mortgage. You could also use for Sec. 8 (replacing vouchers) to avoid discriminations.
He should just move all the oil with his Thai Cave sub.

Does he have to vote for his own confirmation?
More specifically, "self-determination is not trustworthy if you claim to be trans" but "self-determination is trustworthy if you later decide to detransition."
I’m honestly not sure what this is referring to? Special elections? Changes in opinion polling? Both are more about reactions to Trump than anything Dems are doing. Community organizing in MN to respond to ICE? Done without Dem (DNC, Frey, Walz) support. What is directly attributable Dem strategy?
CalPERS and the Guild pension funds should get involved. A state-owned bank in California would also be means of countering media consolidation trends.

My "I'm not hurting kids" T-shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt.
The Khanna/Maisse unity ticket stunt in 2028 is going to be so fucking dumb.
IANAE but seems like you’re ignoring the money raised in the course of eliminating billionaires and judging our ability to fund an expanded welfare state from the date billionaire are eliminated (and thus the B tax no longer raises revenue). But, like, we just raised hundreds of billions of dollars.
Peter out of the country? I wonder where he could be…
He’s a mediocre thinker who, like Noah Feldman, loves to play liberal contrarian and provide cover for conservative’s attack on the rule of law. We don’t have to just accept them as the self-proclaimed spokesperson for liberal legal scholarship.
I have no problem with op eds as a means of persuasion. But this guy in particular should stop writing them
Netflix should make a hostile bid for $PSKY
“Only liberals are persuadable”
But what are you trying to persuade them to do? Oh right, be more conservative (or at least, less liberal)
It’s still reactionary centrism
I think the more likely issue here is that Establishment Dems are trying to shut down any effort by the left to gain influence over the primary. Not because of electability concerns, but because if they did the ideological center of the party would shift left and that threatens donors.
I’m sorry but I don’t believe anyone involved in this debate is making a distinction between “I won’t vote for him ” vs “Other people won’t vote for him.” I mean your argument about the suppressive effect of saying “I won’t vote” isn’t mitigated by instead saying “others won’t vote.”
They’re making an electability argument. They’re saying Gavin Newsom isn’t electable because people like them might stay home. For some reason this is only a problem the left does it. When “moderate” Dems say Bernie or AOC is too far left that’s sensible and savvy
If we admit the resistlibs were right about fascism, people might start to wonder if they're also right about American capitalism.
Unfortunately none of these people are an imaginary couple living in Chuck Schumer’s head.
I’m going nuts trying to understand Schumer & Co.’s strategy of chasing Republicans. But if you have folks like this, loudly screaming they will vote for anyone left of JD Vance,” it kinda makes sense (“Just think how many people are left of JD!”). And these type of libs are very common in the DMV.
This is why they should have been fighting for statutory Bivens action.
