Got a lot done over a long car ride to an event this weekend. Ready for the border & final touches.

Looks good with the yellow filled out, now for the big job of filler stitch.

Now that I'm back it's time to do the barony side... Trickier art, but I really like the way the outline came out. 2-strand in brown. Hopefully it'll still look as good filled with the yellow.

Spent some quality time with the project at Gulf Wars last week & finished the kingdom side:

Still getting the hang of the long-short stitch, but it's going well so far.

And now to dive into the actual product, starting with the kingdom badge. Started with an outline in 2 strand stem stitch to keep things straight:

Next steps on the arming cap project... Learning how to make the surface look better. Not really pleased with how the satin stitch looks on this large an area, so I'll have to get better at long & short stitching...

And the next attempt will be the baronial arms - this will be tricky. Thinking about brown to outline the moose, and fewer strands for the satin stitches.

Tried the next step in the arming cap project last night - kingdom populace badge, full size. Overall, not bad... I expected the pile to be problematic, but the overall satin stitching is getting better. Still not sure about the border, black or yellow base.

Then a couple of tests to sort what I actually want to put on the cap... Second attempt shows some improvement with the satin stitch, but the first one had better couching on the border.

Working on the next art thing - some embroidery. I've got an arming cap that needs decorating, so I gotta learn some basic stitches...

All right, think I'm done painting & ready for lettering. I'll post that after it goes out tomorrow.

Ok, trying to be more proactive and posty and better about documenting my artsy stuff. Nearly finished scroll for this weekend. Lettering is set on scrap paper; will post a finished pic when it's handed out

Ugh. Just getting involved with a VC at any level for any project tags you as the mark in the room. It just gets worse from there. Another excuse to dismantle vital govt services, hand the operating $$ to private investors, and leave the actual citizens with nothing.
