The thing I will say though is - as a voice actor and streamer - I don't grow nearly as fast as others. Hell even the people I help sometimes grow beyond me.

I do a lot on my own and I'm used to that.

But in the end, I know I'm doing right for the sake of it.

After half a year I finally got paid by a client who dodged, lied, ghosted and vanished on me.

I'm gonna check in with the other VAs on that roster to make sure we ALL got paid.

Just saw a British citizen and an American citizen talk about their first time with Saving Private Ryan.

They didn't know what Normandy was, how it really happened, how gruesome it was, none of it. Then they started crying when they realized this was real.

80 years, we really do forget.

To continue this, watching some of these people react to Terminator 2 is just uh... I'm unsure what's going on with the newer generations.

"When did Arnie go eeeevul? Why was he so evil in the first movie?" - Uh.. there were millions of.. 'Arnies' my good chum.

What movie are they watching.

Like I just saw one go from watching "Black Hawk Down" to listening in/watching a documentary about a WW2 veteran and how they said - "Wait... that's sort of like what's happening now..." - it was like their brain turned on for the first time.

YouTube is a gold mine of this right now.

I'm going down a rabbit hole of different people reacting to movies, news, real world situations that are happening or have happened.

I'm learning that Gen Alpha/Z don't even believe half of what history was, until they read about it in an actual book or hear it from someone who was there.

At the end it leaves almost every single one of them completely astonished and understanding as to why it's a 10/10 movie (and sequel) as well as most saying they're now afraid of how LA looked in 2029 in the movies.

Most even stopped using AI after watching them.

An interesting observation!

They also seem to not quite understand how the story is going or what's happening until it's very obviously presented to them.

They call Arnold "The Terminator!" as if there's only one, they don't know that Kyle had severe PTSD (it scares them to pieces) and barely know who's who until it's stated.

Most of them are absolutely astonished by the practical effects, the story (how it can be horror, romantic, action, comedy, etc), the acting, the visuals and sound direction and even dialogue.

They're blown away by it as if they've never seen anything as good in their lifetime, which is spooky.

I've been watching a lot of "movie reaction" videos lately about Terminator 1 and 2 in sequence.

The viewers in question are all Gen Z and Alpha, just to see how comprehend things.

I think the silliest one so far is a woman who got through the Tech Noir chase and said - "So Arnie's a computah?"

Fuckin gave him a months notice (if not longer) about when I had to go get my wisdom teeth pulled and he blames MY ASS for him not paying attention.

I'm so pissed off.

Why do terrible assholes get everything, but hard ass workers get nothing?

That moment when your boss doesn't listen to you, exclusively ignores you, exclusively treats you like shit when you're the only one out of the 5+ staff that hasn't been fired for not doing their job (I'm always on time with my voice recordings) and he blames my ass for him not paying attention.

Once again I'm reposting this, because I've seen just how badly the AAA industry is becoming.
