Texas Republicans are fueling culture wars based on lies.
They tried to lie about a school in MY DISTRICT… but I didn’t let them.
If you're going to attack Texans, you better have your facts straight.
I still believe in this House.
I still believe in this republic.
And I still believe democracy is worth fighting for — that’s why I voted NO on HB 4.
HB 4 is a desperate power grab by a scared man and his scared party.
It was written in secret, pushed through in chaos, and built entirely on intimidation.
But they’re not scared of me. They’re scared of you — the people — rejecting their lies and failed agenda.
Representative Nicole Collier has been held on the floor against her will for over 48 hours for dissenting.
A 7-term legislator, attorney, and community advocate has been surveilled and detained in her own Capitol.
That is not democracy. That is authoritarianism in real time.
HB 4 carves up Austin, forcing progressive champions to run against each other and silencing diverse communities.
It stretches districts over 500 miles — diluting Black, Latino, and AAPI voices that power our state’s future.
That’s not compact. That’s corrupt.

Nicole Collier is a duly elected State Representative who is standing up for her constituents.
She is being detained by a party trying to silence the voice of millions of Texans.
And the American people are responding with disgrace for Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans.
Texas Democrats are fighting for the American people.
We’re against gerrymandering — period.
But if Republicans cheat, we will fight fire with fire.
Texas Republicans just filed a lawsuit to remove me from office.
They want to silence me for standing up to their power grab.

In a democracy, the people choose their leaders — not the other way around.
But Republicans know they’ll lose.
So they want to rig our next election.
Instead of solving real problems like rising costs, failing infrastructure, and underfunded schools. Trump and Abbott are busy undermining our democracy.
Let’s be clear: If you have to cheat to win, you shouldn’t be in power.
But we’re 5 years early.
Because Trump wants to silence voters who reject his extremist, harmful agenda.
This power grab threatens the voices of hardworking Texans — trying to erase their influence and steal their representation.
Redistricting is only supposed to happen once every ten years.
It’s meant to reflect population changes fairly — so every Congressional district is equal in size, and every community’s voice is equally heard.
Trump’s extremist agenda has already devastated Texans — slashing healthcare, restricting food stamps, and underfunding our public schools.
Now he’s asked Abbott to find 5 seats to keep Republicans in power.
And Abbott is coordinating with Trump to rig the maps for political gain.
