I believe that we will ultimately adopt Democratic Socialism in this country, but it's going to take years for that transition. In the meantime, we need to have liberal and conservative voices to pave a level path forward. When we compromise and work together, there's nothing this nation can't do.

Newsom is the Democratic voice we need to move us ahead. Kinzinger is the conservative conscience that can temper our ambitions so we don't reach too far too fast. He's actually a pretty reasonable guy if you take the time to listen.

I sincerely hope that in a future Congress that has its senses will impose on themselves limits to the number of terms they serve and the maximum age of service. If other civil servants have limits to when they have to retire, it should follow that elected servants must have similar limits.
