I just started John Fugelsang’s book, “Separation of Church and Hate.” Early chapters already address this bias of “recordings” If you haven’t read it, I think you would enjoy. I literally just started this AM but I was thinking I should recommend it to you and then happened to see this post.
Friendships evolve and look very different between groups and times, but they are important beyond measure.
But we have also discovered what an amazing village we have. Friends have kept the boys fed and we are incredibly lucky that this stroke wasn’t worse. It’s a major shift for the next 30+ days, but we’ll get through this. 💕
This comes on top of welcoming my Mom into our home last month because she broke her femur, had surgery, is still in recovery mode herself. Oh, and she has early onset Alzheimer’s. So we have quite a load right now.
Luis had a stroke on Thursday morning. He’s currently in acute rehab, likely 2-4 weeks. He has lost control of his left arm and leg. But PT& OT have been encouraged in their initial assessments. Our goal is 100% recovery. He is motivated to do it; it’s a reasonable goal; but it will take time.
My friend group is much more controlled over here, so that’s why I’ll share here vs my other platforms. For those of you that know, this pic is to assure you that Luis is doing better. For those that may be learning this now, please see comments for details.

You know when there’s only like 15 pages left in a book and nothing’s been solved and you get that weird closure anxiety like “okay there’s no way any of this is gonna be wrapped up in a way that makes any sense to me”…that’s what everything feels like all the time now
