augh i use this site constantly and it is, indeed, deeply obnoxious

unfortunately this is all too common with shounen in particular lmao

there are some things that would just be much better suited to a visual 'moving' and cinematic medium that aren't necessarily the same in sequential art

i think that makes a lot of sense! adapting works to anime needs to create its own 'narrative' that works for it as an animated medium rather than just going 1:1 with the manga or source material as you said!

it's a lot to get into! but gosh, yeah <333 it's such a dear favorite story to me.

(and also agree that it is SO not necessary for all manga to get anime adaptations,)

all this to say: 100000% agree - i so wish more people would just read more manga and comics and sequential art works!!

and some manga - like little forest - simply wouldn't work very well being adapted to anime. the art style is so unique and beautiful, and adapting that kind of work to an anime tends to lose some of the manga's charm and meaning in the process ;__;

gintama is such a distinctive manga! and it has mangaka and manga-specific-only themes and in-jokes that really only work in a comic medium!! i absolutely love the anime as well - it's absolute gold, but the manga is SO good, and it's actually a travesty for anime-onlys to skip it, tbh. T__T
