My immunocompromised mom came down with the same symptoms that I have last night. 💔 I feel so sad that she got sick too, and hoping that she can be as safe as possible and recover smoothly. 😢 She had just recovered a couple weeks ago from earlier sickness too, so it's especially devastating.

Pro tip: If you are attending a rally or action, wear a N95 mask & bring extras to give to others.

High quality masks can serve triple-duty: they prevent you and others from getting sick from airborne viruses, they keep your face warm in the freezing cold, & they can protect against surveillance.

What finally broke me is seeing that Curry Corner, which closed indefinitely this week because of concerns for employee safety, handed out free samosas at the protest today.

They are unable to open the restaurant but they went out and fed the community

I know everyone knows, but I still feel like it cannot be overemphasized: It is damn cold out there.

Like, I suspect most Americans have never experienced how cold it was when these folks set out earlier today. They’re hearty, yes, but this is exceptional.

We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.

My family is making a monthly commitment to Amal’s family because she needs income that she can count on.
