I understand why it exists, but I LOATH playing fighting games online. They were never meant for that. I rarely play them anymore even though it is one of my favorite genres. Its somewhat ok-ish if there is no other choice.

Im not going to share # 's, but Volgarr I, a 10yr old game is still out performing Volgarr II, came out last year. If you're a fan of the games, I'd like your help in figuring out what you believe I did wrong that caused this? Honesty counts. I need to fix this before the "next" thing. #indiedev ❤️

I was playing this game a lot at the time while making The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night on GBA. Good memories.

Volgarr the Viking II for $10 on Xbox, ehh? Rise again warrior! MOAR Totally NOT Rastan Saga except with those design sensibilities from 3DS Shinobi (2011); makes sense as Crazy Viking Studios was founded by some of the ex-Griptonite staff behind that game.

Obscure 2D arcade brawler send-up Volgarr the Viking. It's like if you mixed God of War with Ghosts & Goblins, viciously difficult & high-APM for what it is.

What a refreshing take ;)

I always wanted to get that game remade for consoles/ steam so more people could get access to it. Shame it never happened.

I could tell so many stories about the dev of that title. This game almost didn't exist at all. :)

It is pretty cool to see ideas pop up now that reaffirmed, at least to me, it was ahead of its time in many ways.

It's also worth noting that two of the employees, Taron Millet and Kristofor Durrschmidt(@volgarr.bsky.social) split from Griptonite games to form Crazy Viking Studios and release one of my favorite hard-as-nails platformers of the 2010's, Volgarr the Viking. With Volgarr 2 recently released in 2024
