A ball of yellow wool, and sample pieces of yellow and green.
It's also a good dye plant: the yellow is almost too bright, but makes a lovely green if overdyed with indigo. Alum mordant for the yellow.

Amanda drives an ancient "electric brougham", which she bought for a pound, in Margery Allingham's 'Sweet Danger' (1933). She charges its battery with power from the watermill in the village, & it goes for five miles, "two and a half miles out and two and a half miles back" on each battery charge.

Replica of a medieval surgical instrument designed and made by surgeon John Bradmore to remove an embedded arrow.
...Prince Henry unwisely lifts his visor, and days later at Kenilworth Castle surgeon John Bradmore retrieves an arrowhead from the back of his skull with an instrument of his own devising.
