The past two years I had a class of 14 students. These past two years, I was my healthiest, rarely taking a sick day, despite being immune-compromised. Seems like teachers taking less time off for illness, might be a cost-saving measure.

I’m a Canadian type 1 Diabetic. My $7K pump and $200/mo for supplies is paid by the government. More would be covered if I didn’t have a work insurance plan. My insulin is $25 for a vial that lasts 2 weeks. As of June 1, government is covering more of diabetic costs.

We were at a small local restaurant last night and they updated the menu to include which items were made from Canadian products.
One of my neighbours growing up caught the measles as an infant (too young to be vaccinated) and as a result, lost his hearing completely. Sad this could have been avoided.
This is so true. I used to scour second hand clothing shops for particular (expensive) brands of jeans for my kids because they would last through several kids of hand-me downs. The cheap ones wouldn’t last one kid and always tore at the knees.

A Tesla owner friend was hit head on last week which wrote off the car. He’s HAPPY he has a good reason to get a new (non-Tesla car). Hospitalized for bone breaks and a suspected brain bleed but the car is gone. Who is ever happy to crash their car???

A close friend’s Tesla recently was hit head on by another car. Everyone is fine and my friend is so happy that he doesn’t have to drive a Tesla anymore. He bought it in 2018 and had the sticker, “I bought this before Elon went crazy”. When has anyone ever been happy to total their car in a crash?

I had a conversation with a former parent of a 3rd grader I taught how my son at 18mos helped unload the dishwasher. I mean, it was easier for him to help than to shoe away. Remove the sharp/heavy stuff and hope all dishes survive! He’s 20 now and keeps the cleanest apartment at uni.
