Ray β€˜Boom Boom’ Mancini on His Surreal Time Sparring With Bob Dylan in the Boxing Ring In honor of The Bard’s 80th birthday, famed ex-boxer Ray β€œBoom Boom” Mancini opens up about the time he exchanged blows with Bob Dylan in Dylan’s secret Santa Monica boxing gym.

Never knew Bob Dylan once boxed with Boom Boom Mancini himself.

Mancini recalled β€œAt the end of the round, Dylan came over and said, β€˜Ray, could you lay off those headshots? I still have a few songs left in there.’”

This is fun: I get to pontificate about Dylan, always a great way to relax and pass the time. Ruminate, cogitate, whatever we ate - with the great @raypadgett.bsky.social in person:

I....don't even know what to say about this. Legs & Co "interpret" Bob Dylan's Baby Stop Crying, Top of the Pops 1978.

My most basic Bob Dylan opinion is that Blood on the Tracks is his best album.

It’d be much more fun to argue for Street Legal or Modern Times or something more unusual. But come on. Blood on the Tracks has never been topped - by him or by anyone else.
