Fair. I’ve heard lots that it’s easier to learn how to speak Spanish than writing or reading in Spanish. Still, may be something to gradually look into if one plans to live there. One never knows if, say navigating a marketplace, English will be spoken or written

That’s awesome! I actually watch a vtuber who speaks Swedish, and Swedish and Norwegian (along with Danish) are not far off from each other, I also got a textbook that breaks down all three at the same time. I also like to listen to a lot of Nordic folk music so that’s always fun too!

Immersive/applicable learning can help with you building fluency, so reading in Thai, either to yourself or out loud, watching various shows in Thai, listening to Thai music, etc. the more interaction, the better you’ll get and it’ll stick. I’m trying to do something similar with Norwegian

XD true facts, true facts! It’s not so much that I can’t/don’t worship pantheons from other countries, it’s more connecting to my ancestral lands (my family is screwed up in a lot of ways so it’s not really honoring ancestors as it is cultures/beliefs) 1/2

Schools are weighing and pulling out of DEI initiatives to save their federal funding. I’m feeling a lot of emotion right now, including anger, and I know a lot of students from multiple backgrounds are feeling the same, enrolled or not. If one really thinks about it, we are a gridlocked nation. We either go this way or that way, pointing blame this way or that, but it rarely gets anywhere. The violent yelling continues to freeze us while resources are spent and destroyed. How much more are we willing to take before addressing it?

I just want to say, anyone defending Elon Glados Musk as being autistic has ZERO awareness of what this legitimate disorder is. Being a self-absorbed narcissist with no interest in the general public is NOT the same as being on the autistic spectrum.

Am I wrong though? Hair is butter (looks greasy enough) and his skin is covered in Cheeto powder, guy is literally flavored as salty child tantrum when he doesn’t get his way and yet seen as the “favorite” when he’s pardoned of the 36 felony crimes he committed. How people favor him is beyond me.

If I may, ambition and compassion doesn’t need to be exclusive. Ultimately, any job can serve the people at large, or the well connected, it’s up to the individual as to who and what to serve and why, but I do agree that there needs to be more compassion, too many people are hurting, for too long.
