Self-driving is already here, and has been a long time. It’s a bus driver, or a train conductor.

Once you learn how to really use public transportation, you start to feel like a wizard. Walk out the front door and float off to where you’re going.

Also often true in game design. If you just explain a game mechanic, the player will struggle to recall, but if they figure it out through experimentation and clear feedback, it'll stick. I call this "sparky design": given 2 rocks to bang together, they get sparks, then they set the world on fire.
