Very pleased to share this blog post discussing my experiences of seeking 'impact' during my PhD for my doctoral funder, NIHR SPCR.

For me, it grew iteratively and was grounded in relationships and collaboration.

Hopefully of use to others currently undertaking their PhDs!

A couple of weeks ago I passed my DPhil viva (with no corrections?!) at @oxprimarycare.bsky.social

Using this as an excuse to share some of my doctoral research papers!

My thesis was an ethnographic study of the digitalisation of general practice work, published across three papers (so far)

Thanks for engaging so completely! Yes I’m hoping to look more into both the issues you raise in future work - what happens to invisible patients & what is the impact of AI in digital access/triage (funding dependant!). Watch this space, important questions!

To harness tech’s benefits, practices need to be *change-ready*: have strong working relations, time and resource to make informed decisions RE what tech and when (for the local staff/patient context) and the capacity to implement
