This work builds on my doctoral research on digitalised general practice, and my paper on the equity risks of (non-AI) technologies for access and triage available at SSM here: www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Very pleased to share this blog post discussing my experiences of seeking 'impact' during my PhD for my doctoral funder, NIHR SPCR.
For me, it grew iteratively and was grounded in relationships and collaboration.
Hopefully of use to others currently undertaking their PhDs!

Bottom line: more technology-induced stress and suffering, strained relationships, but hope for tech benefits with more coherent and considered integration efforts

A couple of weeks ago I passed my DPhil viva (with no corrections?!) at @oxprimarycare.bsky.social
Using this as an excuse to share some of my doctoral research papers!
My thesis was an ethnographic study of the digitalisation of general practice work, published across three papers (so far)
Wooooo thanks Trish, Davide and Cathy, WHAT A DAY!

Paper out on digitally-driven stress, strain, and suffering in UK GP
To harness techβs benefits, practices need to be *change-ready*: have strong working relations, time and resource to make informed decisions RE what tech and when (for the local staff/patient context) and the capacity to implement
