Ooh - my new paper on case study is out! Whatโ€™s a case study, how do you do one, how do you spot a good one? Includes niche examples like the REF impact case study (though itโ€™s mainly about research case studies).

Dear parents - Yes you can give your sick child paracetamol if theyโ€™re >3 months old. Itโ€™s an excellent painkiller. It brings down a high temperature. Itโ€™s one of the safest drugs available. You are right to want to soothe your childโ€™s distress. Evidence supports your good parenting. Be confident.

The film highlights the progress the #NIHR UK is making in patient-orientated research in chronic pain
Researchers are reclaiming the #chronicpain narrative; moving on from Big Pharma-generated opioid & other biomedical actors marketising chronic pain which left patients worse off.

High quality systematic reviews do not link paracetamol to autism. I took paracetamol in pregnancy. I maintained a healthy pregnancy weight. I have a family history of autism but none diagnosed in my children. There is (apparently) a bit of ADD, but mostly we think of it as our super-power :)

I took paracetamol in both my pregnancies for minor joint troubles. I had a better pregnancy experience because I wasn't in pain. Neither of my kids is autistic. The high-quality studies and reviews confirm there is NO evidence that paracetamol taken by the mother causes autism in the child. ๐Ÿงช
