all the pages of HOW'S MY DRIVING, laid out side by side
it's done! Live on my ITCH & PATREON soon!
04.10.2025 05:07 โ ๐ 34 ๐ 10 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 1Black Americans will always find joy even when the world around us is burning.
And where joy canโt be found, we create it.
Thatโs one thing they keep trying to take from us and it pisses them off that they canโt.
Ok, putting my blockers on, will not be back on until this afternoon!
Don't forget: Imagination is for Everyone.
Absolutely!
02.10.2025 11:52 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lol. To be honest, I completely conflate these two in my mind.

Occasionally though, you have to let people know so they know.
Now you know.)
Here is my occasional note: if you are black TTRPG designer and can use help with anything - design advice, brainstorming, connections - please feel free to reach out and I will do what I can to help or find someone who can help.
We need more black TTRPG designers.
new day, new hopes of getting more help! thank you all for those who have given so far!!!
i have to try and pay this today so iโll be back to reblog a few more times!
Oh damn. Oh damn.
These are must-haves.
Whatever you think about Coates (I am a fan), he conducts himself with rigor and discipline. He asks hard questions of himself and of the world.
Klein was right about something once and just spouts nonsense into the nearest mic.
Something that makes me deeply irritated is that Coates and the very unserious Klein are considered as 'equals' to have a 'debate'. I couldn't get through a minute of their chat without shutting it off.

30.09.2025 19:25 โ ๐ 386 ๐ 69 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 3This whole ICE nonsense quota based racist policing is so useful for illustrating so many Black civil rights concepts that people have been confused about for decades.
People used to ask me, "Why do Black folk cheer when they see a man successfully run from the cops? He's a criminal!"๐คก
No.
there are five prompts left in the #randompromptsjam hosted by me and @farhorizonscoop.bsky.social! i mean we can start doubling up if we get more entrants than that, but if you want to join, now is a great time! there's still basically four weeks to write your #ttrpg thing and submit it!
28.09.2025 15:38 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 1If you enjoyed a game on Itch, leave a comment!
Honestly, it really brightens a creator's day. And it's a big encouragement for others who may be interested in getting that game.
Itch hides reviews from the game page, so I find comments more useful in the long run.
Like a game? Comment away!
On top of that, I can actually use different sets of frames, and give people tools for changing the elements in response to whats happening.
Last, I can actually use the secret Council as another driver of sub plot.
BUT. What I am using in Surge is the other side of this: after you do a few cycles, the table builds context and a sense of where they want to go. In these conditions, it would be actually really nice to let a scene go longer and use some of that. Surge uses a cadence of timed/untimed scenes.
28.09.2025 15:55 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The "secret" here being that most ppl aren't improv geniuses and dont have a sense for the best way to progress and/or end a scene live with partners without looping or rambling on. The timer for these scenes removes the pressure of having to worry about that.
28.09.2025 15:51 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What makes the scenes in Community Radio work is the way you set them up with frames and elements, discuss with the group how to start, and then just letting go. Folks tend to question the timer for slice of Life scenes but those are most of the time THE secret sauce...
28.09.2025 15:49 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ive been trying to spend a lot of time on how slice of Life and broadcast scenes work to enable more plot-centric play, but ive realized that those are the special sauce and I shouldn't do a ton with those.
28.09.2025 15:46 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Anyway, I was hinting at it yesterday, but what I am doing with the scenario ("The Surge") is using the Community Radio's Cycles more or less intact, but changing how you interact with elements, frames, and the secret council.
28.09.2025 15:43 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Electricity from most power sources is actually damaging to the zombies long term (human body is not made to conduct it!) and is short lived, while human bio electricity is both well tolerated and lasts longer, so the zombies absolutely need that sweet human spark.
28.09.2025 15:40 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The zombies become fast and mindless when they are fully 'charged'. They are slow but cunning when they are on low charge, setting traps and luring people in.
The zombies crave and need electricity, but human bio electricity is most craved...
