Yep, Heretic is that Doom but fantasy. Hexen is abstract and confusing at times. Doesn’t help that sometimes the opening is a hole in a dark corner you can barely see when you stand above it. Hexen also shed the loop getting overwhelmed by enemies. There is less. The focus is clearly the exploring.

Still the best in Macross.

Wouldn’t mind that but the noclip interview probably hinted at Hexen II + Heretic II. Quake 3 is possible too but with Quake Live not as much in need and a purely mp focused game might not be as interesting.

I think the Gradius Origins Collection might be just worth it for Salamander III. Everything else is the icing on the cake. (Safe for the fact we have a long thought to be lost version of Gradius III)

Samurai Shodown (2019) does not reach the heights of the franchise, but this stage does look better than anything in SF6. Also by far the best 3D SNK game. SamSho perfectly captures the dance macabre between beautiful landscapes and nature, and the ultraviolence between two fighters.

Donkey Kong Banaza is absolutely amazing. Wish they would update Tropical Freeze for Switch 2 as well.
