Discovery project submitted. Now time to relax in Mauritius for a few days.

Perhaps all conferences should be held on tropical islands...

You put your one bag in, you take your one bag out. You put your one bag in WITH THE BAG TAG ON how hard are instructions.

Bag drop queues should have a special line for people with 1 bag. Change my mind.

Changes in isolation guidelines for CPE patients results in only mild reduction in required hospital beds Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE) are an emerging public health concern globally as they are resistant to a broad spectrum of antibiotics…

At the end of 2023, the Victorian Department of Health changed the guidelines for patients colonised with Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales. Hi, can you help me? I want to develop a model that makes risk predictions.

Use logistic regression.

Can I use some more modern techniques, like AI?

Use a neural network with single non-hidden feed forward layer that outputs to a single dimension using a sigmoid activation function.

It's always an intriguing mix of people telling me masks don't work and are a war crime, and people telling me allowing covid to spread is a war crime. More fascinating than upsetting, at least to me. Especially the obsession with the criminal part of any advice (most of which isn't even mine!)

A lifetime on the internet has made me reasonably immune to these things, but I *still* get emails (2 years on) from die-hards telling me how I should be punished for harms caused...
