I was rather excited when I glimpsed what I thought was a juv Black Redstart in my garden this morning, after a short wait it reappeared, only for it to continue to show up numerous times over the day! What a special visitor to my little patch of North London! #londonbirds @rspb.bsky.social

Had a feeling that today would produce something at KGV with @gdh56.bsky.social and then this Wood Sandpiper Came in to view on the N basin. Chuffed with that, and a first for London for both of us! @birdguides.bsky.social @rarebirder.bsky.social #londonbirds

Absolutely brilliant to catch up with Spotted Flycatchers that have bred locally to me (Enfield) for the first time since 2018, despite taking fall damage while trying to get the perfect shot... (look where you're stepping folks!) @birdguides.bsky.social @rspb.bsky.social #londonbirds

Fascinating stuff when your colleagues at @royaloperahouse.bsky.social ask you what the dead bird outside stage door is..? A Whimbrel!! Presumably an overnight Peregrine Kill while it was migrating. @birdguides.bsky.social #londonbirds

It was quite mesmerising watching yesterday's huge #thunderstorm roll East-West over London from the safety (and totally dry) loft in North London. Rolls of thunder were almost constant for more than an hour! #thunder #storm

Very foggy conditions this morning with only about 20m visibility for most of the morn, started to clear just as I was leaving... Still foy Reed and Garden Warbler for #KGV this year, 3 Yellow Wags over. No waders unfortunately, but never had a clear view of the causeway... #londonbirds

Red Kite in #TrentPark this afternoon put on a bit of a show in good light, eventually going back down to collect its carrion before gaining height and going south. Looks like it was feeding on a Stock Dove. #lowcarbonbirding #redkite #londonbirds #londonbirding
