A year on, I’m not convinced that principle is being met. And even with a 118-page white paper, massive questions about future SEND provision remain.

Last summer, the Liberal Democrats published five principles to help guide the government’s reforms to SEND.

Number one was putting children and families first.

It took a while but it’s a relief that the government might have finally listened to Lib Dem calls for a profit cap on SEND providers.
