In February, BK Open Hearts held a free store for homeless neighbors.

On Thursday, March 12 from 4-5:30pm, Midtown Open Hearts will be distributing baby supplies at a shelter in Midtown East.
We need volunteers to help distribute items and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Our Douglaston chapter distributed shelf-stable foods at a supportive housing site last week.
Thanks to our members who collected donations, sent funds, distributed in person, & created activity kits.

Even though the Upper East Side is one of the areas with the fewest shelters in NYC, this site has still been met with backlash from some community members.

As part of an effort to expand shelter capacity across the city, the 1114 First Avenue Women’s Shelter is set to open this year. This site will offer wrap-around services from trained clinicians and staff members to support residents’ needs.
