Love the Brian Gleeson is starting the first game under McMillen, after just 2 starts last year, some time to be made up for. 2 years ago he was head and shoulders ahead of Marko Gazzotti & Chandler Cunningham-South, lads who are now club regulars, internationals & one has a European Cup…

Agree centre is an issue, at least an unknown, how will Henshaw play? Will Ioane have an impact? But for me 2nd row is a big problem, McCarthy injured, RG never gets a break & Ryan’s injury profile all a worry, need a lot from Mangan and real improvement from one of Deeny, Spicer or O’Tighearnaigh

Jordie a huge loss, but on paper I’d say the squad should be better… would expect a lot more from Boyle, G McCarthy, Clarkson, Mangan, Gunne, Prendergast, Tector, Cooney etc Furlong & Larmour like new signings. Huge x-factor is the post-Lions injury curse, could derail the season.

Wasn’t actually taking the piss… now that you have an S&C team, Edogbo & Kleyn fit, Milne, McMillen etc etc I’d be a hell of a lot more optimistic than many a year, but appreciate there have been false dawns
