My heart breaks this week.
I studied for four years at Cardiff University School of Music (BMus Hons., 2013; MMus, 2014), and it was the first place where I was truly able to be myself and pursue what I love.

I have heard there will be more coming for people to throw their voices behind the cause.
I fear that senior-unknowns have been sabotaging the School for some years, and it appears that this is what they have been plotting for some time behind closed doors.
π For colleagues at Cardiff: What can be done? What is the next step?
This is the universityβs only remaining arts faculty, and with one of the richest musical histories and impacts not only for Wales, but across the nation, this would be catastrophic for Walesβ cultural future.

I want all young composers to know that rejection is the norm. I reckon 85% of my ideas never come to fruition because I canβt engage an orchestra, soloist, festival, commissioner, funding body etc. Itβs exhausting, but keep going. Donβt give up! Itβs their loss, not yours!
