I could understand if both PS5 & Switch 2 were the same price but this is crazy.

It depends on how many they can manufacture but it also depends on what happens with the tariffs.

If they have to raise the price they will definitely not make 20.

If they thought they could sell 8 million in a month the yearly estimate would be higher than 15 million.

But that is also just a fan estimate & we will have to wait probably until the 27th to hear the official numbers.

And secondly understand that making something in a factory in Vietnam is not the same as moving it into the retail channel to sell!

Parents of young kids now are millennials & Gen Zers. They know how to use the internet. And they probably play games themselves.

"Wait for a sale" is simply not some new or foreign concept to most people.

They aren't gouging people.

Analysts put the materials for Switch 2 at around $400 & that's just manufacturing so it's a lot more once you start adding things like shipping and tariffs.

This was never going to be a $300/$350 system. But there will be alternatives like a Lite 2 in the future.

They made a system that is powerful enough for their devs & 3rd parties to make games w/ fewer compromises.

The Switch has been chugging for the last 3 yrs.

Even 1st party games have felt rough on that old hardware.

They had to do something & upgraded mobile tech costs money.

They don't have a Selects line but they do more sales (like 3 or 4 a yr) now.

And if you buy physical there are even more sales than in the past where you can get some pretty big discounts.

It's very easy to get a discounted Nintendo game now you just have to wait & check Deku Deals regularly.

I mean that could happen but I don't recall it being a widespread issue with the original Lite so not sure why you'd worry that much about it for Lite 2.

It'll take a couple of years but I'm sure they'll release a Switch 2 Lite type of system aimed at kids or budget conscious people.

Now I disagree with MKW's pricing.

I felt it should have been $70 but I absolutely agree with the need for variable pricing worldwide.

MKW took one of Nintendo's largest internal teams plus internal & external support teams 1/2 a decade to make so it was never going to be a $60 game.
