I didn’t get to one of my favorite hikes for two weeks and when I got back the forest was dotted with trillium. Named for its threes: petals, sepals, leaves. The petals turn pink when pollinated to let pollinators know not to waste precious energy.

20.02.2025 02:26 — 👍 26 🔁 15 💬 1 📌 1The conference welcomed 1,400 visitors. Keynote speakers included Kaveh Akbar, Jennifer Clement, John Irving, Jorge F Hernandez, John Vaillant , Ruth Reichl, Deepa Rajagopalan, Percival Everett, and the amazing Margaret Atwood, who I very briefly met.
Sam Miguel at night- a beautiful hillside with warm lights, the cathedral all lit up.
I got to spend time with the amazing Lisa Bagshaw. She knows San Miguel well and was an excellent guide. We shared many laughs!
I came across some excellent autos- this steampunk van was my favourite!
I may inundate my feed with pictures from the San Miguel Writers Conference. It was transcendent - I’ve come away from it a new writer.
