yes exactly! i think what makes the DRK quests so bittersweet is that they address WoL's agency but ultimately the wider game can't. WoL must either bury their resentment or hone it like a weapon in itself. freedom is never achieved because you are strong and have a moral responsibility to help

i have a whole AU of them Becoming A Problem once they get sick of being used as a sharp stick for the Scions to point at all of their enemies. even in the main canon they hold deep resentment for most of them, excepting the twins since they're just kids
