Green deputy launches leadership bid with UK β€˜eco-populism’ vision Exclusive: Surprise challenger Zack Polanski says party can learn from success of Nigel Farage and Reform UK

This is a very interesting intervention in the Greens. Polanski is a strong communicator.

Personally I think it would make sense for the Greens to have one leader rather than two - the co-leadership model equates to less than the sum of its parts at the moment

Australia Election 2025: Why did opposition leader Peter Dutton lose? A Trump effect and a lack of a coherent campaign saw opposition leader Peter Dutton lose the election.

The conservative wannabe-Trump opposition leaders in both Canada and Australia lost both their bids to become prime minister - but also their own seats!

To quote ⁦β€ͺRick Wilson‬⁩: everything Trump touches dies.

Starmer faces Labour revolt over plan to raid bank accounts of benefit claimants.

This revived Tory Bill must be defeated, assumes that everyone on benefits is a criminal and doesn't deserve any financial privacy.

The plan wasn't in the manifesto. There is no impact assessment.

Socialism is that thing the very rich are scared of because it would tax them out of existence to provide things like Healthcare and Housing for all.

Could all supermarkets and shops in the UK please do this and also indicate the country a product is manufactured in.

People should be given the choice to boycott countries based on cost and values of their businesses and governments.

@MartinSLewis is right to mention that energy bills are going up but he doesn't mention the root cause - that we allow the global price of fossil gas to set the price of the energy we make from the wind and sun. If we β€˜break the link’ we can lower energy bills.

It's great TV watching these CNBC analysts realize there is no "theory" on TV in real time and they can't even invent one. One just said "They're burning down the house to cook a steak." There's a phone ringing off the hook in the background no one's picking up. It's chaos, I recommend it.

MPs to vote on disability benefit cuts without knowing β€˜full impact’ Britain’s economic watchdog may not publish forecast of employment prospects until the end of October

MPs to vote on disability benefit cuts without knowing β€˜full impact’.

The same thing happened with the winter fuel payment cut.

Will the alleged savings materialise? The impact on the NHS, GPs, families, people?

Lack of impact assessment is a good reason to vote against the cuts.

UK govt must reverse benefit cuts for the disabled/poor.

3m families to lose Β£1,720 a year in real terms.

OBR says people receiving disability benefits generally have limited capability for work. It couldn't corroborate govt claim that work is available.

There are alternatives to the govt policy.
