I was today years old when I learned the car I've owned for nearly a year has heated seats.

Furthermore, I have *adamantly* denied their existence every time my spouse has inquired.

It's currently 75Β° here in sunny Florida and we likely won't have another cold snap until next December.

Top Executive Leaves ADL Over CEO’s Praise of Elon Musk YaΓ«l Eisenstat’s departure is the most prominent instance of post-October 7th dissent within the organization.

Jftr, the ADL has been having internal issues for months due to both its CEO's intense focus on Zionism (over ADL core values of countering bigotry and promoting democracy), and specifically his adoration of Musk, despite the latter's white-nationalist sympathies.

Some in Portland are completely subsumed by the moss.

Thought I heard a plane, so I peeped at flightradar. No plane, but I did see a private Cessna doing slow loops over the airport. Probably flight lessons, right? But then it veered off and "landed" *in a forest*.
Should I... should I tell someone?

I'm still having a rough time with the fibro, BUT I'm the lead in a play! That hasn't happened in a long long while. And it's honestly been SUCH a lifesaver; even on days I'm dying, I will still drag my arse to rehearsal. Plus, my character doesn't have fibro, so there's weirdly some relief there

Ok, my best Twitter bud died some 12 years ago, and I haven't really felt comfortable with the short-form format since. Guess that has spilled over into this space, too. Sorry! I'm still mostly alive!

Jftr, the healthcare thing is completely unrelated. But as someone with multiple chronic conditions-- at least one of which requires a $50k+/yr Rx just to keep me alive-- it's funny. To me. Because dichotomy and weird priorities make for some wonderful black comedy in my world.

Good: I've been cast in a bucket list role in the first show I've auditioned for in YEARS
Better: I actually feel physically up to doing this!
Best: I lost all my healthcare

Oh wait I didn't do this right did I

UBI saves a ton of public money, but its lack of cruelty sends certain people into a rage, so it’s hard to put into practice.

The thing that keeps getting me about all the pieces fretting about Bluesky being too insular is that the argument seems to be that those of us who are most likely to be abused by the right (BIPOC people, trans people, queer people, etc) must put up with being abused for the sake of public discourse
