So, basically, Ferdinand has entered assisted living. He's not in danger of dying any time soon, and may even recover, but for now, he needs help eating and drinking.

I think this was my BIL's favorite, too.

If Ferd had his way, he would sleep smack dab in the middle of the bed, about level with my knees. This does not work for me. Last night, he manage to end up trading sides of the bed with me, which pleased him almost as much.

My dog went to bed. It's 8:15.

Ferdinand wanted cuddling tonight; first time in my memory that he asked for rather than merely accepted it. He doesn't like to be whole-body hugged, but he loves having his head hugged and cuddled.

Ferdinand is in a food eating mood today. He drank 3 oz of "soup" (soft food mixed with bone broth & blended), ate some pretzel roll, egg, bacon & cheese, plus shared my peanut butter cookie. Is it bad to give him people food? Not if it means he eats.

I've read the Gene Stratton Porter book.

My father grew up in Wisconsin, so real butter (including on noodles) was all we had. I'll quietly admit I can't really taste the difference between butter and margarine, though, especially in baking.

I had a terrible clog in my bathroom sink, and all the regular unclogging methods just seemed to make it worse (snake, Drano, baking soda & vinegar) (not all at once, and not directly sequential). So I started pouring boiling water down. It took about 2 liters of boiling water, but it worked!

[sarcasm] there, there, little lady. It doesn't really hurt that much, you just think it does [/sarcasm]. How they get licensed when they start out believing they know better is bizarre to me.

Ferdinand has an adorable shaved belly. He won't let me take a picture of it, though.

Ferdinand's seizure medication is changing. His diagnosis of beginning liver failure makes me very, very glad I have always made sure his treats were low protein.

I had a terrible dream last night. I lost Ferd in a snowstorm, then I got lost myself without my phone or wallet. A nice woman gave me a phone card, but I couldn't find anywhere to use it. Then, right at the end of the dream, I saw a sign directing me to the oldest living chili bush.

Getting the laundry done (under the circumstances) isn't nothing.

Ferdinand got to sit on my lap after dinner since I finished my jigsaw. Last one before I start sewing. Mt Rainier National Park.

Just back from my local Kroger affiliated grocery store, where I was looking for almond extract (plus other things). They had 13 different brands of vanilla extract on the shelf, plus 2 lemon and 1 peppermint, and exactly 0 almond. What the hell?

On December 19, 2014 at approximately 6:30 pm, Ferdinand became My Dog.

Ferdinand is trying very hard to get me to follow him into the kitchen (where the food is), even though dinner isn't for an hour and a half.

Ferd was serenaded by Christmas carols this morning while I went to get my hair cut. I'm pretty sure he didn't care.
