#Trieste ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Centrale last Friday. Pictured here is the #FS #Trenitalia #InterCityNotte #770 for Rome, if there werenโ€™t a strike. Hauled by two Class E402B electrics, topโ€™nโ€™tail, it included seat cars, couchettes and a T3 sleeper (one of just a few, itโ€™s got some cabins with en-suite facilities).

Seen last week at #Lyon ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Part-Dieu station, while waiting for my connecting train: the #Renfe ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ #AVE Class S-100 high speed train, a close relative of the #SNCF TGV-Atlantique. They were about to leave for #Barcelona. The car with two rows of windows, one on top of the other, is the #Cafeteria car.

On the last train for today: a 250 kph #FS ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น #Trenitalia #Frecciarossa Class #ETR600 high-speed tilting train takes me from #Milan to #Venice. Itโ€™s got a sort of #DiningCar, labelled โ€œFreccia Bistrรฒโ€. Well, itโ€™s a counter where one can purchase drinks and light meals to take to oneโ€™s seat.

#FS ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น #Trenitalia #InterCity trains, like the #Ventimiglia to #Milano one today, havenโ€™t got a proper #DiningCar in their consists. Yet, in most cases, thereโ€™s a multi-purpose car with vending machines and an area with bar stools. The espresso coffee, it costs 1.30 Euros, is actually quite decent.โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Next step, prochaine รฉtape : #Marseille to #Nice on board an #SNCF ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท duplex #TGV #inOui. Itโ€™s got a nice #Bar #DiningCar where a lovely steward is selling food and drinks. The interior of the cars, namely the seats, follows the #Ocรฉane design style.

If you LOVE travelling in the middle seat, but arenโ€™t that much into flying, THIS is your thing: the French #TGV #Ouigo ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท, #SNCFโ€™s low-cost, and high-speed, train. Itโ€™s REALLY fast, up to 300 kph. And in case you are more of a window or aisle-seat kind of person: itโ€™s got plenty of these as well. โค๏ธ

#Genรจve๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญCornavin to #Lyon ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Part-Dieu on a loco-hauled train today: a nice surprise to see an #SNCF Class #BB22200 โ€œnez cassรฉโ€ electric hauling a consist of #Corail carriages. They were built in the 1970s. In my view, they are still among the most comfortable and stylish cars around on French rails.

#ร–BB ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น Class 5081.500 #Schienenbus railcars used to work passenger services over the #Erzbergbahn line. They were specifically equipped for operations over the steep incline. This is long gone. On the picture below, taken in July 2011 at #Erzberg station, we see a railbus working a tourist train.

Siebenbrunn-Leopoldsdorf (for those who like long train station names). Rural #Austria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น in a way, yet just a stoneโ€™s throw from #Vienna. Picture taken in November 2018, before the line was upgraded and electrified. This is actually the most direct line to #Bratislava ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฐ, via #Marchegg.
