“noted.” she smiles a bit, hand going back into her pocket in an attempt to keep her fingers warm. her fingers always get cold.

but she looks back up at him once he asks, head tilting just the tiniest bit as a look of ‘oh no’ crosses her face. “uh, i didn’t.. oops. yes, i am hungry.”

she nods, “you know.. all the fear, and i never thought to make sure i have a snack of some sort with me.” she does need to start eating better once again, get back into the swing of attempting three meals a day.

“i’ll definitely have to start doing that, after this time of course.”

“oh, no .. it’s not that. i can be alone, i just.. have a tiny fear of overdoing it and passing out while out on a walk. i’m trying to learn to listen to my body when it says stop, and hopefully i don’t have to have a fear come true.” she speaks softly, letting her arm drop finally.

“i can always write out another. keep it. you can find me anytime you want. as long as you’re up for company, of course.”

she smiles a bit, holding the piece of paper out still, waiting for him to take her word for it.

she pulls out a little piece of paper, one she had her address written on beforehand just on the off chance she happens to faint or something while out walking, it’s one of the important papers she keeps on her. others include a little medical card, and her name.

“here, it’s my address.”

“well, if you ever want any company on your walks, i’m always around. i don’t do much these days.” with the healing, it’s taking up most of her free time, just making sure she doesn’t risk irritating the still healing wound across her midsection.

“oh just a couple blocks that way..” she hooks her thumb over her shoulder. she’d moved out after getting out of her own little medical coma, she needed a place to heal on her own terms and a place to not be nagged in.

“this is my first time walking around here though.”

“well, if i matters, i’m happy you’re still alive.” she shifts her weight from one foot to another, a hand coming out of her pocket to rub across her midsection. feeling the wrappings that she’s been too afraid to stop doing.

“it seems we’re on the same .. process, healing type stuff.”

“that makes sense. i only wondered because i heard about your accident and then the coma. i’m under doctors orders, unfortunately. gotta keep moving or they’ll put me in a hospital room.”

she shrugs, head tilting as she looks up at him. her hands find their way into her pockets.

she’s smiling as she approaches him as well, covering some distance to sort of meet him in the middle. “oh, nothing much. just wanted to go on a bit of a walk. it helps sometimes. you doing okay?”

she’d heard about his accident, an accident coincidentally on the same night as hers.

she’s walking around the block, humming a bit as she looks around. she’s attempting to figure out some more ins and outs of the town, but then she’s spotting @denimrat.bsky.social a bit down the street. she’s catching his eye and waving, “hey!”
