222 images into v18. Just about through the beginning parts that require (what i think are) the most clothing modifications and things are looking good. only doing a partial day today tho i think.

yeah. it's hard to support something creative when it was written by a pie chart. nah, bankrupt that shit with your heart if you have to and i'll dive into the abyss behind you.

yeah. my model is awful for business. i mostly do the opposite of what i financially should and refuse to monetize. i prioritize the story over finance because i dont see that in entertainment. decisions seem to be made by algorithms or executives. i crave the dominion of the starving artist

it's hard for me to call myself a writer because i'm a psych guy; i sorta fell into this full time. i've also only written one thing ever. i dont even know what the market is. my perspective is that readers crave authenticity. what you write doesn't matter. if they trust you, they'll give it a shot

Somehow I missed this. If it was 4k, it’s possible. Image files are usually the biggest part of games like this. It’s also why most VNs use sprites instead of CGs for everything— because it massively reduces the game size

Honestly this is so bad that like I wanna share it. I wanna show how bad it is because off screen it’s a disaster but within that particular rectangle, somehow an entire world is formed and it’s wild 🤪

so i made a transition scene between the 2 parts of the revamped beach

and it's a big fat lie

it's just random pieces from each scene smashed together. backwards, upside down, floating rocks off camera just for the shadows--

and dammit, somehow even I believe it's real

Hoping to get the next DevLog out this week. This will be a first look at the beach entrance with behind-the-scenes pics, comparing the original to the completely re-textured revamp.

tons to talk about and show off so there will be an extended video cut if you want to hear excited me get in-depth

I’m good man. Thank you. I was only down for a day or two then mostly back to half then full days. Healing good. No complications so far and it looks alright so I can’t complain. Still rockin a band-aid and stitches tho 🤙

just hit the end of the scene. rendering now so we'll see what it looks like with fresh eyes tomorrow. still some things to iron out but i'm honestly feeling good about this.

completely agree. i dont like sitcoms. the good place is my exception because when viewed as a whole, it's way smarter than you thought it was.

also, not a network tv fan. the good place.. again. is my exception.

Never woulda paired this but after seeing it… yeaaaaah…. All in. This remains one of the few franchises that actually takes itself seriously. This is on par with Keanu imo

"the good place"... network comedy that seemed like a light-hearted comedy until at some point you realize the writers actually had a solid point to all of this that elevates a comedy to something existential. solid from beginning to end.

goal for today: finish up the beach intro scene.

I have hand surgery scheduled Thursday due to a cycling injury.
luckily it isn't my dominant hand so i should be able to keep working but depending on bandaging, it could impact message responses or posting for a week or so

i'm out. i prefer the objectivity of perception of individual creativity. "i'm where i am where i am at this stage in life but i make an attempt to be informed." i think that's the point of creative media and the value. and art can take decades or longer to perfect. i respect that process. period.

i'm super anti-AI. period. zero AI used here. hell, it's obvious that i dont even use spell check most of the time :p
