Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Letβs all remind ourselves of the silent battles, the unseen grief, and the courage it takes to stay.
Letβs break the stigma, speak with compassion, and hold space for those who need it most. Reach out. Listen deeply. Be the light someone might need.
This is a huge story.

@jconnollybooks.bsky.social This line immediately came to me in Mr Farrell's tone of voice, and I pictured him being all passive aggressive as he said it.
Perfect.
Bought this from @waterstones.bsky.social in Chester yesterday. The people at @northodoxpress.bsky.social do cracking job.

Check out my new project! I'm setting up a speculative fiction micropress with a focus on Northern writers. I am EXTREMELY excited but more than a little nervous.
If you enjoy writing or reading literary/experimental fantasy, horror, or sci-fi, following and sharing the press would be lovely!

Mental Health Awareness Week is just over a month away π
This year, weβre bringing awareness to the fact that mental health is everything. Itβs more than just a small part of our lives. Itβs connected to every little thing we do, every place we go and every person around us.
This is a great podcast. It gives an insight into the writing process from a diverse selection of authors. Give it a listen.

As a matter of urgency, Meta needs to compensate the rightsholders of all the works it has been exploiting.

20.03.2025 10:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dear UK government, Let's be clear: our mental health is getting worse, and cutting benefits wonβt help. You claim mental health is being βoverdiagnosedβ, but whereβs the evidence? The reality is that our environment affects our wellbeing - pandemics, the cost of living crisis, political unrest and ongoing concerns around climate change are all taking their toll. But when people seek help, they face months, or even years, of waiting. Rhetoric like this is dangerous. It reinforces stigma and stops people getting support. If youβre serious about change, listen to those affected. We can turn this crisis around - but only if the government works with us, not against us. We look forward to hearing from you, Mind
Where's the evidence that mental health is being "overdiagnosed"?
