Just before falling sleep, I came across a quote attributed to Saint Augustine, one I had never seen before. The very next day, while on vacation and aimlessly wandering the streets of Thasos, a quiet little island in the Aegean, I saw those same words inscribed on these steps.

And Obama is a good man. Unlike the orange immature boy currently in charge.

Buongiorno! It’s one of the few Italian words I know, but it’s a real pleasure to greet the locals each morning with such a cheerful phrase.

We love beautiful Roma and Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the first churches built to celebrate the Virgin Mary in 431 A.D.
We just missed Pope Leo by 30 minutes. He was at the church to bless an icon of the Virgin Mary. The tomb of Pope Francis is located inside the church.

That's exactly what I told my wife ...haha. Gowanda was a great village to grow up in. Also, there were more people in that one little bar in Kastoria than there were in all the churches combined...haha. Having a good time too!

Kastoria, Greece, known for its Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches. The city once had 72 churches with 54 having survived to the present day. They date from the 9th - 19th centuries. Only one bar in town though and it's pretty new.

Bush was unqualified for the job too. Another complete moron. Launched the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and still managed to cause the 2008 financial collapse. Why people continue to vote republican blows my mind.

Obviously we need to tweak the Constitution to prevent this from happening again. Potential voters should have to take and pass some sort of a civics IQ test before being allowed to vote. Intellectually challenged should not be allowed to vote.

His first offense at not following proper OPSEC procedures would've earned him an Article 15 in the USAF. His second offense would've earned him a trip to The Big House (Ft. Leavenworth) Fire the idiot!

Too much money will make anyone goofy. It's like alcohol. A little bit is ok, too much and you get stupid.

Celebrating the harmony of sunlight and darkness, and the return of these beautiful wildflowers. Weeds too, some of which are just as beautiful as the diva wildflowers. Happy Easter!

Bill, you weren't high, but considering how the night went, perhaps Trump was. A little Xanax maybe.

Meteora, masses of rocks, sand and sediment carried by a river and deposited in the ancient lake of Thessaly 25 million years ago. There once stood 24 Greek Orthodox monasteries. Just 6 now. Today we visited 4 of them. The rocks are amazing look at up close and also from far away. A sacred place.
