Dr Mohamed Khamis is a Reader (Associate Professor) and the PGR Director in the School of Computing Science. He's also a member of the Glasgow Interactive SysTems research section and leada the SIRIUS Lab research group, focusing on research at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and User Privacy & Security. He worked in a diversity of topics within HCI, privacy and ubiquitous computing. In particular, he is active in the fields of eye tracking, pervasive displays, usable security, and user privacy. His contributions are at the crossroads of user privacy and ubiquitous computing: - Usable Security and Privacy - Designing Gaze-based Systems
Congratulations to Professor Mohamed Khamis, who was recently appointed as a member of the UK Government's Home Office Science Advisory Council (HOSAC).
He will be advising the Home Officeโs Chief Scientific Adviser on AI and public safety.

New research from @uofgcompsci.bsky.social shows that peopleโs perception of motion can be radically manipulated in passive VR environments without making them feel unwell.
It could open up new advances in video games, theme park rides, or simulators.
