Stepping to the side while fascists take an axe to our system of government is not a response. Democrats are complicit.
Not a single chance.
14.03.2025 15:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mark Joseph Stern: It is horrific. Foreign aid is a tiny portion of the federal budget, less than 1 percent. But Elon Musk targeted it first out of the gate, and now people are suffering. Musk has claimed the power to shutter USAID-to defund the entire agency unilaterally. Because of that, right now, millions of people around the world have lost access to life-saving drugs. People have been cut off from HIV treatment. Regions of the world suffering from famines have suddenly been cut off from their food supply. Patients in the middle of clinical trials, which hold great promise for breakthrough treatments, have been totally stranded in the midst of their own treatments because the trial got suspended overnight. There are vital programs that promote democracy and protect free elections all around the world that are being obliterated. There are thousands of Americans who are doing crucial humanitarian work promoting democracy abroad who are abruptly being called home with no notice, their lives and careers thrown into total disarray. It is a tragedy.
Donβt look away from the needless death being inflicted around the world by the Trump/Musk shutdown of USAID. Even if the federal courts ultimately save the agency, thousands of people will have died in the meantime. Because of a billionaireβs spite, sadism, and paranoia. slate.com/news-and-pol...

Real doozy - of course need to call out the focus on academics and not on other tangible benefits of inclusion, but regardless, should have anyone engaged in SPED slowing to ask themselves and others some questions.

Shallan is such a complex character and I love the depiction of her journey with her identities. And wow Adolin, I did not expect to love him so much.
Also - I have to shout out Wit. Most intriguing character ever imo
ALSO - the heralds! This was the first book where I could really feel their stories, their long lives, their history and challenges. Really appreciated that.
06.01.2025 15:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0But beyond that, I absolutely loved the time we got with Szeth in this book. His development arc, his internal struggles with morality and justice and humanity, they were incredibly well done and, at least for me, the most relatable to my experiences.
How about you?! Fave character or thread?!
Oh my GOODNESS βSanderlancheβ just made me laugh so hard. Stealing that word for sure.
Ugh, such a hard question. I hate to be typical and say Kaladin, but wow there really are few characters in any writing that I feel so close to falling in love with.
My answer is Chikorita. For all generations, until the end of time.

I LOVED the book. The timeline over ten days, the deep focus on highlighting the growth and mindset of each character, the progressive expansion of the lore and cosmere. Cemented B. Sanderson as truly my favorite author.
If the algorithm wants to connect me with other Stormlight Archive fans who also just finished Wind and Truth, Iβd gladly welcome it.
Having nobody to discuss the latest book with is paining me!!
I absolutely hate the updated Apple Mail app. Hideous. Complicated. Unnecessary.
