A story about rehabilitating ISIS brides in Iraq doesn’t sound very cheerful, but it’s very funny, highly original and totally fearless. I thought it was brilliant! (It’s quite rude & irreverent, so not for everyone I’m sure!)

The people (Tories and Reform) who tell you your rights are safe if we leave the ECHR as they’ll replace them with British laws also told you our trade, borders and NHS was safe if we left the EU because they’d negotiate amazing trade deals, take control of our borders and fix the NHS…..

We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."

The story on BBC News this morning didn’t mention the Good Friday Agreement or anything about what the ECHR does for us all! Just Philp giving his side of things. It’s exasperating!
