sadly when the systems do come in it's usually rote and prone to cliche tied to the history of dating sims and the like, but not always. The concept of a visual novel - much like Interactive Fiction before and tangential to it - is still ripe with a potential for less genre-dictated uses.

In a visual novel, especially one where the player doesn't get to do much but be exposed you can find absurdly deep dives into all sorts of imaginative concepts, it's refreshing.

So over the past couple months Iβve been, under no threat of violence whatsoever, taking dictation on a scifi actioner in novella form. I think thereβs about a quarter of it left to do.
Iβve also, with no gun pressed against the back of my head, provided the cover art for it.
The EU once again retreating into cowardly neutrality, which will probably be followed by outright collaboration, and calls for international law to not be broken when it already has been.
