Oh hell yeah.
15.06.2025 16:47 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Nope. We have the power to change the government, and we have the power to cause it to crumble without even a single act of violence. I'm sorry you feel helpless, bitter and angry, but we are far from powerless.
14.06.2025 23:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0No, it's not a "suggestion" of anything. It's a statement of fact. It isn't her job. She has no official role here. She's a former vice president. That's all.
Maybe you can try to correct your mistaken understanding, but she has no place as a voice for anyone. She has nothing of value to say.
It's not surprising that she's not saying anything. She was a last minute replacement for a worthlessly incompetent old man, and while she tried and made a good shot out of only a few months to run, she lost. Why would she be vocal or active? It's not her job.
14.06.2025 22:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Ultimately, we have the power to change that. It is by our hands that power is granted, taxes are paid and society functions. Change is down to forcing it to occur by making society grind to a halt once normal means fail to be productive.

Along with @jayapal.house.gov, @raskin.house.gov, and @benniethompson.bsky.social, weโre calling on the Trump administration to end this practice.

There's a ton of events. Check to see which one is closest to you, and if you're able to, go. It's a good way to spend your afternoon this Saturday.

21.03.2025 00:20 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The number of people gleefully calling for a person's (technically millions of people but I'm referring to Khalil in particular) rights to be violated, in both speech and due process is absolutely disgusting.
These people can't be allowed to integrate post-Trump in their current state.
The FTC protects consumers and takes on monopolies, so of course Trump illegally fired two of the agencyโs independent commissioners.
This is what the Wall Street executives and corporate interests paid for by donating to his campaign.
The courts must fight back.
Why is it a big deal that Trump wants to fire the two Democratic members of the FTC? Because without a federal privacy law, the FTC's authority to investigate "unfair or deceptive" business practices is one of the only meaningful checks against abuses of corporate power at the federal level.
19.03.2025 15:17 โ ๐ 82 ๐ 40 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1The FTC has pending lawsuits against Amazon, Meta, & Google.
Trump is trying to gut the FTC by firing two Democratic commissioners.
The NLRB is fighting against Amazon & SpaceX in court for violating workers' rights.
Trump tried to gut the NLRB.
See the problem here?
It's certainly not a good thing that people are so prone to wanting simple answers. It's a difficult issue.
17.03.2025 15:59 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It's a weird thing that a lot of anti-science people picked up. The overlap of "carnivore"/keto people and antivax sentiment is pretty wide though.
And yeah, while you could semantically argue that it's true in a sense on a very surface level, they mean it literally, implying it's poison.
Naturally-derived & synthetic versions of a chemical are the same chemical.
Ex: formaldehyde, formula CHโO.
TRACE levels in some vaccines, <50 micrograms (ยตg) per dose.
YOUR BODY makes 42,520,000 ยตg formaldehyde a day. (1.5 oz, 850,000-times more than a vaccine).
Itโs the SAME formaldehyde.

I'm unconvinced that anti-vaxxers have the capacity to grasp this concept. Many of them are the same people who gleefully exclaim "margarine is one molecule away from plastic" as though it means anything at all.
It's so frustrating.
I've got another completed audiobook recording. It finished a while back, right before the weeklong Amazon boycott, so I hadn't posted a link yet. It's a story about amnesia, something around a 3rd-4th grade reading level.

It's almost like he doesn't understand how the Senate works. His vote for cloture means they don't need him to do what they want anymore. He gave up any power he had simply because of some thoughtless, baseless aversion to shutting the government down.
