30.04.2025 04:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0githubstatus.com do you accept suggestions on what "operational" means?
29.04.2025 19:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Dark thought while listening to Battle Hymn of the Republic. If we're renaming gulfs maybe we should also start saying Civil War I
25.04.2025 14:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This comment by Anders Hejlsberg on the choice of languages for TypeScript is worth reading. Spead that type of thinking! (And recognize the massive shift that Microsoft made)

22.02.2025 05:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Isn't it funny how Isaac Asimov imagined we would understand the logic of the positronic brain, while in reality ML inference does things that we have zero idea why. I think todays 20-something's are already "where the puck went"

05.01.2025 02:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Logical fallacies come in recognizable patterns. I'm always on the lookout for the False Dichotomy - classic examples include, "you're either with us or you're against us" and "it's not the size that matters but how you use it".
26.12.2024 04:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pianist rant:
The instrument was named the Pianoforte because unlike a harpsichord, it can be played both quietly and loudly.
Then some quiet person (I assume) thought to abbreviate the name to "piano" which undermines the whole point! We are back to "only play quietly" UGH.
I am a Forteist.
Yeah the gridders also messing with the descendants of the dinosaurs. Better for them when the humans batteries hit 47v and their inverters cut out!

11.12.2024 23:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When I think about pizza, I think about my "4 B's" fave (broccoli, banana peppers, bacon, blue cheese).
That always reminds me of the episode where Shredder opens a pizza joint advertising bizarre toppings because he knows the Turtles can't help but call and order.
I want to have trust in the leaders of this platform, that they have done their diligence and everything has been considered ... but I'm still just wondering: is Elon okay with us being here?
11.12.2024 00:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's so easy to overestimate the probability of an undesirable outcome, like "if I shut the intake vent too much, maybe the fire will go out".
Flip it around and try to estimate if you *wanted* that outcome. "If I was trying to put out this fire, how hard would I have to suffocate it"
