Yeah, and being all of 21 years old I was out there in jeans, Reebok high tops, a down coat, and no gloves.

It would be a bit of a shock to the system for sure. I’ve stood out waiting for a bus in Chicago when the windchill hit -83°, that was very rare and completely ridiculous.

In the Midwest October and November can be lovely, but December definitely has that “waiting for the shoe to drop” vibe, the show being arctic weather. 😁

I grew up on military bases in the sixties and seventies and it was very similar, the dividing line was rank, not race/color/creed. And you didn’t hate the other ranks, it just wasn’t okay to socialize with them due to military culture.

I came out at 18, I’m 65 now, 1978 was a great year. 😁

Fall colors are very muted this year, we’re in a drought so the trees are mostly dark rust colored.

I was 42° this morning, I had to wear a fleece while we ran errands, quite nice.

Only part of WA I’ve been to is the coast… you’ve got a desert there too?

I was riding the elevator at the parking garage with two kids after my workout (I’m retired from the local university and work out at those gyms) and asked them, they said “it’s hard not to” I replied “girls, let your freak flag fly”, they thought that was hilarious.

I’m new to wear headphones and listening to music while I workout, can a tell me how the young kids can listen to music and not mouth the words while doing full on drum solos?? Cuz I do. 🤣🤣

“Rollin Coal” at cyclists riding out in the country is the norm here, as is trying to clip them with their mirrors. 🤬

Whew! Couldn’t sleep last night, finally went to bed at 4am, fell asleep around 5am, got up at 8am. It’s a quiet stay home day here, just reading and relaxing, and I’m guessing bed by 9pm.

I worked the door at a gay bar before I was a bartender there, weekend nights there was always one woman and one man working the door, when people asked why I’d just stare at them and ask “do you know any guy who would be stupid enough to try and lay hands on a 1970’s lesbian?!?!” 🤣

Yeah, we pretty much survive on eggs, fresh veggies, and beans, in a variety of combinations. 😋

My life is far better knowing my online friends/buddies/people, it’s a unique opportunity in human existence, to know others around the world and feel that connection… we are indeed lucky.

My old social work supervisor whispered to me as we were leaving a staff meeting “you just told the CFO to go fuck himself without saying a word”. 🤣

I used to be a social worker and worked primarily with mentally ill homeless adults, when I dealt with abused women and had to interact occasionally with their abusers it took a level of self control I usually lack… although I’m told my face speaks absolute volumes.

I would suck at being a lawyer, I’d lose my temper all the time, say fierce shit, and end up disbarred.
