I highly recommend that series. I started reading it because I am a huge Black Sails fan but honestly, I think I would have come across it anyway. I was captured from the first page. Luke Arnold has created a captivating world and an unusual yet intriguing protagonist (I am not gonna say hero...).

Beautiful! Max is such a strong character. And Black Sails is one of the best shows ever made imo - and yes criminally underrated. It deserves way more praise.
I am also currently rewatching Black Sails. I did not think I could love the show more but I find it even better on rewatch because there are so many details I notice just now... amazing.
I second that. If you are looking for a well written show give Black Sails a try. The storytelling is amazing as is the acting. And the high quality holds up until the end. If anything, it gets better throughout the four seasons.
Imo Black Sails is one of the best shows ever made even though it's 10 years already. The writing, the acting, everything about it is amazing. But following your recommendation I will give Andor a try. Thanks!

I watched it last year and imo it is one of the best shows ever made. Everything about it is great, writing, acting... I agree the 1st season is the weakest but even that one is exceptional compared to other shows. And the complexity... it gets even better on rewatch.
True words that hit the mark for me... not so much sparkly last year as it was my son going to prom and he is not the sparkly type but getting the suit and shoes right and make sure we leave on time had the same energy as the Saturday morning soccer matches. And now the nest is empty...
Everything about it is amazing! I always cry at James & Thomas reunion (for the record: I believe that Flint lived, I have to). I am glad that Rogers got what he deserved & that Flint finally beat Billy (that fight). And wasn't Madi fantastic? And THAT SPEECH!!! God, I love this show! #BlackSails

Fantastic scene! As I was (still am) so hooked by the show I started listening to #FathomsDeep podcast @blacksailscast.bsky.social (I highly recommend) & a lot of the cast say that working on #BlackSails has been an exceptional experience, they speak very highly of the show & its runners. Peak TV!
